225 Volunteers and Counting

23 days to go and we're over half way to our goal/hope of having 400 volunteers participate in Hands on Kirkwood 2011. Be sure to sign-up soon as projects are beginning to fill up. But, and this is exciting, as some projects fill up we're even in conversations about possibly adding new projects as well.

If you've already signed-up - THANKS - and this might be a great time to invite one of your friends or neighbors to sign-up as well. If you haven't signed up, now's the time. Just go to www.HandsOnKirkwood.org and hit the volunteer tab. October 22nd is going to be a great day. We hope you'll be a part of it.

Battle of the Bands

This year our Hands on Kirkwood ministry is reaching out to teenagers in the community by hosting a Battle of the Bands ... right on the front steps of the church. Through this ministry we hope to showcase and encourage the interests and God-given talents of youth who find their home in music. Plus, we're giving each band a challenge. They will score extra points from the judges by performing original songs that promote themes of justice, peace, making a difference, or positivity. And, it provides a safe and fun choice for local youth.

If you or someone you know is in a band and wants to play, they can register at www.kirkwoodbaptist.org/battle-of-bands.

Want to come out and listen. All the fun starts at 2 pm and goes until 5 pm. More details on facebook.
